A World We All Fit In
We are all unique and this is especially true for our brains. Depending on many variations such as our Genes/DNA, region, upbringing, religion etc., each of our brain assimilates, integrates and retains information differently. However, we are all born with a special ability, a gift, or a facility for something that very few can replicate which usually sets us apart and makes us unique. Some are creative souls, some are logical souls, others are intuitive and empathic souls. Some have a gift for singing, or play music, some it is to write music others to teach music, some have the gift of art of various kinds and styles and all of which have merits, technical, fanciful, reproductive, etc. And, for some it is numbers, logic, creativity in writing and so on, whatever the case we all have a special talent for something.
Then we are sent to school. Just as in olden days when it was forbidden to write with your left hand we are still ignorant in the sense for, we still forbid children to reach their real potential. Because we place them in a mold that they must all fit in. But it is impossible to fit a square in a round hole and impossible to fit a round object in a square hole. However, we are pushed and instructed to all fit in the same tunnel of learning. We must bend, compromise and comply and in the end, we come out feeling confused and “not ourselves”. Some are lucky and figure out who they are, or they were lucky because they did fit into the mold without compromise. But others are not so lucky, some may even take their full life time to figure out “how to fit in”. This in turn causes mental instability, stress, and even depression. But no one understands. We medicate or “talk about it” without anyone ever really listening. But what if the answer, the solution to all of this were simple, would we act upon it? No, because as the saying goes “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” holds very true. Ironically true for humans and not the canine specie for, they can easily learn new tricks, but we need time, lots and lots of time and proof and endless research, until someone is strong enough and empowered enough to impose it.
As soon as we are born we feel, and with these feelings comes intuition. We know what we want and what feels right or wrong but somehow, we lose sight of ourselves because we are forced into a standardise mold.
The word Yoga means union to become one with ourselves and the world around us. To feel intuitively, who and what we are, without denying it and without judgment. Also, in Yoga the word Ahimsa is used, which means not to push ourselves to become injured, physically, mentally as an individual or as an element connected to the rest of the world as a whole or unity of life.
The point is, we all know and feel that things are not right. Intuitively we sense it either from our hearts, minds or physical body. So instead of blaming and remaining as we are because we cannot change the world, why not change yourself. I know it is easier said then done, but next time something happens “to” you, take a minute to think about what has happen and how you perceive it. It is how you perceive things that make an event good or bad. Even if it made you feel bad chose to see the positive that came from it, the lesson learned, if you will and to move forward without giving it the power to pull you down. As they say “sh*&t” happens, but don’t let I get you down. Take deep breaths and breath in the positive vibrations of life and exhale the negatives. Think about the good things in your life and the things you are grateful for. Take the time to do this, alone and then move FORWARD.
